David is a veterinarian (DVM from Texas A&M University) and he
also has a Master's degree in genetics. He was a research scientist for
many years before he went to veterinary school and he has authored many
scientific papers and other nonfiction articles. He currently owns and
operates a veterinary clinic in Tyler, Texas.
His interest in
Airedales goes back to childhood when his father used to tell stories to
him about Airedales who performed amazing feats. When he was 14 years
old, he had saved enough money to purchase his first Airedale. He has
owned Airedales ever since.
In the eighties, David owned several
Airedales, most noted, Ch. Briggsdale's Baby Jane. Jane died prematurely
from autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AHA) and this experience fueled
David's desire to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine, a decision
that he has not regretted.
